Ukrainian civil society organizations have called on EU member states to grant Ukraine candidate status
More than 200 Ukrainian civil society organizations have called on EU member states to grant Ukraine candidate status at the European Council on 23-24 June. Ukrainian Institute for International Politics also signed the Joint Letter.
Ukraine already meets the criteria for the candidate status. More than 90% of Ukrainians support Ukraine's accession to the EU.

We explain why it will slow down the post-war reforms in Ukraine; undermine democracy in other countries, including Western Balkans; increase the EU budget's burden, and push for new instability in Europe.
