Official launch of the EU Year of Skills
9th of May marked the official start of the European Year of Skills 2023.
During the European Skills Day Festival, European Commissioners and representatives of companies from different countries shared their experience: they told how they developed new skills and how it helped their careers.

The European Year of Skills 2023 emphasises the importance of continuous improvement of new skills and abilities as it supports innovation and sustainable development.
The European Commission's goals for 2030 include employing at least 78% of the EU's adult population and providing basic digital skills. It is easier to get a new job or upgrade your skills if you keep up with the times and develop the competencies required in the modern world. That is why, throughout the year, the Commission will highlight initiatives to support the promotion of new skills, and will organise events and awareness campaigns.
