European Year of Skills 2023

2023 was announced by the European Commission to become #EuropeanYearofSkills
👉 This initiative stems from the challenges and opportunities brought to the labour market by the digital and green transitions, which call for new skills of the workforce.
The European Year of Skills aims at boosting competitiveness, investment in training and upskilling opportunities to make sure that workers acquire the skills demanded on the labour market, including digital skills. The initiatives will also focus on the activation of more women, young people and vulnerable groups on the labour market.
✨ The European Year of Skills 2023 will help companies, in particular small and medium enterprises, to address skills shortages in the EU. It will promote a mindset of reskilling and upskilling, helping people to get the right skills for quality jobs.

📍 Contribution to relevant skills and competences in the Danube Region, as well as strengthening the labour market relevance of skills are among the key tasks of the EUSDR Priority Area 9 "People and Skills", which The Ministry of Education and Science and The Ministry of Social Policy coordinate from Ukraine together with the sectoral ministries of Austria and Moldova. Ukrainian Institute for International Politics is the support team of the PA9 coordinator in Ukraine.
